Residents of Brighton, mark your calendars and get up close and personal with the city's future leadership. The Brighton Youth Commission is partnering with the Brighton Economic Development Corporation to present the 2025 City Council Candidate Forum. This gathering will be scheduled for Oct. 8 from 6-8 p.m. at the Sue Corbett Active Adult Center at Eagle View. Aiming to inform voters and shed light on candidate platforms, this forum is important before the city elections kick off on Nov. 4.
In the lineup for the upcoming City Council elections are current Mayor Gregory Mills and a cohort of local leaders vying for their respective ward positions; among them are Jessie Williams and Rhianon Collins from Ward I, Ann Taddeo representing Ward II, and from Ward III, candidates Kevin W. Forsyth, along with Melinda Carbajal. Not to be overlooked, Ward IV brings forth Peter Padilla. If you can't make it to the live event, fear not – the forum will be recorded, ensuring accessibility for all, as Brighton's announcement indicates, with airings on the city’s Comcast KBRI-8 channel and YouTube channel.
The forum is an open invitation to engage directly with the individuals who seek to steer the collective destiny of Brighton. It serves as a bridge between constituents and those who propose policies and visions that shape everyday life. Citizens interested in gauging the pulse of municipal governance and the candidates' priorities, this is your chance to delve into the heart of local politics.
