A Butler County EMT has been accused of sexually assaulting minors and is now facing multiple charges. Nathan Mitchell, 51, a part-time staff member with Quality EMS for the past two and a half years, was charged with sexual assault by a sports official, indecent assault without consent, indecent assault of a person substantially impaired, indecent assault of a person less than 13 years old, corruption of minors, and endangering the welfare of children. This follows an investigation initiated on August 24 by the Pennsylvania State Police after multiple juvenile victims were interviewed.
In a press release, which WTAE reported, it was stated that Mitchell had been placed on leave by his employer. Quality EMS addressed the incident by declaring on Facebook that, aside from confirming Mitchell's leave, he had undergone thorough FBI and state police background checks before his part-time employment. The company emphasized its commitment to "maintaining the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and public safety," adding, "At this time, we have no further comment to make."
Additionally, according to an updated report from the Pennsylvania State Police published by WPXI, Mitchell was arrested following forensic interviews with the affected underage individuals. The troopers informed that the investigation, which drew in connections to a local football program, was triggered following the allegations brought forward, hindering Mitchell from accessing any buildings or facilities of the Mars Area School District.
The ongoing nature of the case was emphasized in both reports, with investigators working meticulously to uncover the full extent of the incumbent claims against Mitchell. No further details have been released to the public about the specific nature of the incidents that led to these charges.
