The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is seeking help from the community in locating Derrick Jay Proctor, a 59-year-old man reported missing earlier this week. According to information provided by the CMPD, Mr. Proctor was last seen leaving his residence on Shaffer Valley Way in Charlotte at around 8:00 p.m. on Monday. His last known whereabouts were recorded as he drove south on Bradford Drive in Charlotte the following day, around 3:00 p.m.
Concerns are heightened as Mr. Proctor is reported to suffer from a cognitive impairment, which might cause him to quickly become misplaced or experience confusion during his travels. His condition also includes difficulty walking, necessitating the use of a cane. In light of these circumstances, a Missing Endangered Alert has been activated by the North Carolina Center for Missing Persons in an effort to facilitate his safe return.
Authorities have provided a description of Mr. Proctor: a Black male, standing at 5’2” and weighing around 165 pounds, with black and gray hair and brown eyes. He was last seen driving a black 2015 Honda Civic, with North Carolina license plate EMC-5525. The family of Mr. Proctor, understandably concerned for his safety, is urgently requesting the public's assistance in helping locate him.
