Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred in the Steele Creek area. Early morning yesterday, officers responded to the 2200 block of Cigar Court for a report of a stolen vehicle and found a victim with gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by MEDIC, as per the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department release.
Investigators and Crime Scene Search teams collected evidence and documented the scene. CMPD’s Operations Command, Victim Services, and the Charlotte Fire Department are assisting in the investigation. Detective Smereka is leading the case.
