Charlotte experienced two separate shootings early this morning that left two people dead and one critically injured.
The first incident occurred shortly after 1:15 a.m. on Queen City Drive, as per WCNC. Police responding to an assault with a deadly weapon call found a man with a gunshot wound. CMPD confirmed he was taken to a hospital and later pronounced dead.
About 90 minutes later, gunfire was reported in the 200 block of Atando Avenue. Police found two individuals with gunshot wounds; one was pronounced dead at the scene by MEDIC, and the other was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to The Charlotte Observer.
CMPD stated that no suspects are currently being pursued in the Queen City Drive shooting. Homicide detectives are investigating both cases, which remain active and ongoing, Queen City News reported.
CMPD is asking anyone with information to contact detectives or submit tips anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600. Detective Carter is handling the Queen City Drive case, while Detective Pearson is leading the Atando Avenue investigation in the commercial area known for vehicle service and trucking companies.
