The Clark County Commission on Aging is poised to chart its course for the coming year at an upcoming retreat slated for September 17, as reported by officials. Slated to take place from 3:15 to 6 p.m. at the Public Service Center’s sixth-floor Training Room, located at 1300 Franklin St., the meeting will be one of both reflection and projection for the commission, as per the county's announcement.
The retreat is set to be an in-person only event, with no options to virtually attend nor a plan to record the proceedings. It does, however, remain open to the public, a gesture inviting community engagement. Delegates will convene to finalize the 2026 work plan and to consider candidates for the 2025 Silver Citizen awards, an honor recognizing invaluable contributions by the elder members of the community.
The Commission on Aging, as detailed on the Clark County website, is a body of nine volunteer members. Supported by the Clark County Council, this team dedicates itself to executing the Aging Readiness Plan, a strategic effort to directly address and adequately meet the diverse needs of the aging population within the county.
