In a significant boost to the local economy, RK Industries LLC, the Colorado-based construction and manufacturing heavyweight, announced it will expand its operations in Aurora, Colorado. This decision, endorsed by Governor Polis and the state's Global Business Development Division, heralds the arrival of 1,786 new jobs and a new 154,488-square-foot facility that will serve as the company's headquarters and centralize four of its eight businesses, as confirmed by the Colorado Governor's Office.

Bringing good news to the state's job market, Governor Polis expressed excitement over RK Industries' choice to deepen its roots in Colorado. "We are thrilled to see RK Industries expand in Colorado, which helps grow our state’s thriving advanced manufacturing industry and create 1,786 good-paying jobs for Coloradans," he stated, as per the Colorado Governor's Office. The Aurora Economic Development Council, along with OEDIT, the City of Aurora, and Adams County, have been integral in facilitating this endeavor, engaging in everything from site selection to incentive negotiations and workforce development over the past two years.

Jon Kinning, RK Industries’ Chief Operating Officer, spotlighted the company's commitment to wider opportunity and community development in a statement featured in the governor's release. "We're projecting to create over 1,700 good-paying jobs over the next eight years, investing heavily in workforce training, and strengthening the communities where our employees live and work,” Kinning told the Colorado Governor's Office. Their historical investment in apprenticeship programs was also emphasized as a foundational measure towards addressing skilled labor shortages vital to the state's economy.

OEDIT's Executive Director, Eve Lieberman, highlighted the importance of Colorado's advanced manufacturing sector in an official statement. "Colorado's well-connected advanced manufacturing sector is a key driver of our economy, and RK Industries' expansion in Aurora will significantly strengthen these industries while creating valuable jobs in this advanced manufacturing and skilled trade sector," she detailed to the Colorado Governor's Office. RK Industries' new facility is projected to generate the largest job increase associated with a Job Growth Incentive Tax Credit approved by the state's Economic Development Commission in 2025.
