From undergoing relevant training to safely storing firearms and reaching out to neighbors, to even simply sharing critical information about the 988 Colorado Mental Health Line, the community is implored to collectively lean in and to fiercely uphold that vigil. Significant progress has been made, with the number of deaths by suicide in El Paso County plunging to 155 in 2024, down from 189 the previous year, an improvement the Council doesn't take lightly, yet acknowledges there's much ground still to cover.
