In a show of solidarity and support for those affected by breast cancer, the Colorado State Patrol has once again taken a visual stance. Throughout October, the Colorado State Patrol will be raising awareness for breast cancer, and they've taken a unique approach by wrapping seven patrol cars with a special breast cancer awareness wrap that includes a flutter of butterflies, the iconic pink ribbon, and the names of 58 individuals connected to the Colorado State Patrol who have faced the disease. According to the Colorado State Patrol, 19 names inscribed on the wrap are in memory of loved ones, and 39 names celebrate survivors.
The campaign does not just intend to pay tribute but also aims to expand its visual memorial by welcoming additional names. These names can be added in person by signature at various points throughout the month. The wrapped patrol cars will not only be cruising the state's various roads but also attending special events, ensuring that the message of awareness and the importance of early detection resonates across every district that the patrol covers.
Providing a glimpse into the program before October, the Colorado State Patrol unveiled its wrap on September 20 during a fundraiser at Liberty High School in Colorado Springs and later featured at the 17th Annual Hike, Wine & Dine event in Beaver Creek to support the Vail Health Shaw Cancer Center. The public will have more opportunities to see these mobile tributes and, perhaps, to participate in expanding the list of honored names during October.
Notable display opportunities for these vehicles will include multiple visits to the Denver Health Medical Center, with one appearance slated for October 6 at 11 a.m. The patrol has also planned to attend the Susan G. Komen 2025 More Than Pink Walk scheduled for October 18. Undoubtedly, the sight of patrol cars adorned in pink is set to immediately draw attention, effectively leveraging the patrol's high visibility to kindle conversations and to promote the significance of this cause.
