An aircraft from Creech Air Force Base was involved in an "incident" this past Tuesday, with officials at the military installation northwest of Las Vegas currently conducting an investigation into the matter. As reported by News 3 LV, the 432nd Wing released a statement assuring that the incident did not result in any injuries or damage to property; however, details about the type of aircraft involved or the specifics of the incident remain undisclosed.
Confirmed details about the event remain sparse, but officials have made it a point to mitigate public concern by confirming that the incident did not lead to loss of life or injury, and did not result in property damage, the nature of the aircraft's troubles and the cause behind them they remain under review and undisclosed at this juncture, according to a statement obtained by FOX5 Vegas. Creech Air Force Base, located adjacent to Indian Springs, is known to house a fleet of unmanned aerial vehicles—UAVs, or drones—and plays a significant role in the Remotely Piloted Aircraft Enterprise globally.
The base is also home to several key operations groups, including the 556th Test and Evaluation Squadron, the Nevada Air National Guard's 232d Operations Squadron, and the Air Force Reserve's 726th Operations Group.
