A historical South Bay jewelry franchise experienced an unprecedented heist in the early hours of Labor Day, with thieves executing a rooftop break-in to plunder valuables, including gold and precious stones. According to KTLA, suspects gained access to South Bay Gold’s Manhattan Beach shop between midnight and 4 a.m. by cutting a hole in the building's roof.

The theft's magnitude is still under review. "The total loss is still being assessed," Manhattan Beach Police informed the press. Adding a layer of concern, one of the owners revealed to KTLA her deep distress following the incident, confiding that the break-in deterred her from returning to the crime scene. South Bay Gold, with a history extending over a century, has never before encountered such a burglary.

Adjacent to the burgled establishment, employees of Coast Music stumbled upon a hole within the confines of their premises, leading to the discovery of the breach. Upon reviewing surveillance footage, they uncovered evidence of one of the suspects on camera. "He was there for hours," Coast Music employee Alexander Hosno recounted in an interview with CBS News. Beth Rohde, owner of Coast Music, expressed her thoughts, saying, "I hope they get caught." Rohde added, "I hope our video and the blood they left behind is the thing that catches them."

As investigations continue, Manhattan Beach Police have requested assistance from local businesses and residents in the hopes that additional surveillance footage might surface, providing further clues about the suspects. Detective Connor Hedde, leading the inquiry, can be contacted at 310-502-5121 by anyone with potential evidence, as per KTLA.
