The Detroit Health Department is hosting its 4th Annual Block Party this Saturday to promote residents’ health and well-being through entertainment and educational activities. The event begins at 11 a.m. with the Safe Sleep Walk-n-Rally, focused on infant safety and organized by the Maternal Child Health team.
The event begins with a rally on safe sleeping, highlighting the importance of infant and young children’s health within the community. According to the City of Detroit, this portion of the event emphasizes the critical habit that helps protect the most vulnerable. After the rally, the celebration continues from 12 to 4 p.m., offering the public health screenings, free food, games, and more, all free of charge.
Chief Public Health Officer Denise Fair Razo is scheduled to deliver the official welcome remarks at 1 p.m. The event will take place at the Detroit Health Department, located at 100 Mack Avenue, between Mack and Erskine.
