In celebration of three decades dedicated to protecting and enjoying the greenery and historical resources Douglas County has to offer, the Open Space and Natural Resources Department is throwing open the gates for a series of public events throughout September. These experiences aren't just a tip of the hat to Mother Nature; they're a big thank you card to the community for supporting the Parks, Trails, Historic Resources, and Open Space Fund.

The lineup kicks off with an Evening Yoga session at 5 p.m. on Friday, September 12, at Sandstone Ranch, letting participants say "Namaste" as the sun dips below the horizon. That's not all, saddle up for a Guided Equestrian Ride on Saturday, September 13, at 10 a.m., but remember, the horse won't be provided. According to Douglas County, reservations are essential for these rare opportunities, and space is limited.

Stars will be the main attraction at a Star Party starting at 5:30 p.m., Friday, September 19, also at Sandstone Ranch, ideal for amateur astronomers and romance seekers alike. The Fall Festival follows on September 22, kicking off at 10 a.m. Monday morning promises a day when no reservations are necessary.
