Community spirit and the sweet taste of victory combined in Bent Creek Woods last night, where residents gathered with local police officers and firefighters for an ice cream social. The celebration, as sweet as the treats on offer, was more than just a casual gathering; it was a reward for the neighborhood's generosity during the recent Eden Prairie Night to Unite food drive.
The entire affair was the prize for their impressive contribution of 316 pounds of food to PROP (People Reaching Out to People), a local charity driven by the spirit of communal support and care. All neighborhoods that went above and beyond, donating over 200 pounds, were entered into a drawing, and Bent Creek Woods emerged as the lucky recipient of this year's ice cream social, an event hosted by Eden Prairie's finest servicemen and women.
According to an Eden Prairie Police Department blog post on their website, the collective efforts from the Night to Unite parties brought in 9,520 pounds of food. "Thanks to everyone who so generously contributed to helping our community," the EPPD expressed. Bringing people together not just through the act of giving but also in celebrating highlights the deep ties the people of Eden Prairie have with each other and their tireless civil servants.
