Edible Brands, the company renowned for its fruit baskets through Edible Arrangements, is now making headway in the cannabis industry, expanding its hemp and THC product delivery service to over 30 states. This move comes after a so-called "successful" launch in Texas, which now includes shipping across the U.S. and same-day delivery in select cities. With a firm presence established in Atlanta, Austin, Charlotte, Miami, and Nashville, the service is positioned to simplify the process for cannabis consumers nationwide.
Launching initially in May with a limited selection of cannabis gummies, drinks, and supplements, Edible Brands sought to test the market in the Lone Star State. The company’s expansion effort was marked by strategic partnerships with prominent cannabis businesses, including Wyld and Kiva Confections, enhancing its product base sourced from the pilot program. In a press release obtained by Marijuana Moment, Somia Farid Silber, CEO of Edible Brands, emphasized the mission to deliver "meaningful consumer experiences" through their new venture Edibles.com.
The timing of Edible Brands' expansion is notably relevant, as both state and federal legislators grapple with the future of hemp policy. In Texas, where the company’s hemp dispatch initially took root, lawmakers failed to pass proposed legislation that would have banned hemp products containing any THC. Nevertheless, the state's governor responded with an executive order establishing age limits and labeling requirements for hemp sales, according to FOX 7 Austin.
Adding layers to the policy discussion, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) mentioned his intention to collaborate with House members for a compromise on hemp THC regulatory measures, Marijuana Moment reported. Simultaneously, at a crossroads sits the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission, slated to mull over a set of emergency rules, as Texas itself contemplates its next steps in hemp-derived THC product regulation.
As consumers navigate this evolving landscape, Edibles.com is ready to guide them through the available options. The company’s executive VP and general manager, Thomas Winstanley, told FOX 7 Austin about their role in setting safe and legal market standards, ensuring consumers, especially parents like himself, are safeguarded against products falling into the wrong hands.
With the platform continuing to develop, Edible Brands' ambitions are not just rooted in commerce but in participating actively in the dialogue around the regulatory frameworks that shape their industry’s future. It's a narrative still unfolding, with the eyes of a company that has evolved from crafting fruit baskets to maneuvering through the labyrinth of cannabis regulation.
