The Town of Farragut is gearing up for its annual street resurfacing program, which will kick off this coming Monday, September 15th, as announced by the town's officials. The initiative includes numerous streets, notably North Campbell Station Road, stretching north from Old Colony Parkway past the intersection with Parkside Road, Brooklawn Street, and several others.
Residents and daily commuters should prepare for minor disruptions: parking on the designated streets is restricted between 8 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. from the start of the project until its conclusion, and drivers are asked to creep at a snail's pace of 5 mph through freshly-treated areas to ensure the safety of workers; meanwhile, local sprinkler systems should take a break during this time to avoid interference with the resurfacing process. Homeowners with tree limbs hanging over the road are advised to prune them ahead of the project to prevent possible damage from paving equipment, though the town will take matters into its own hands if necessary.
The start of the work is set to impact several streets, including, but not limited to, North Williamsburg Drive, South Williamsburg Drive, Georgetowne Drive, and others mentioned in the original announcement. Despite the inconvenience, the town assures that residents will have driveway access at all times; however, short delays might occur as equipment moves through the area and while the road is being resurfaced.
Weather, ever the uncontrollable variable, holds the potential to disrupt the resurfacing schedule, with rain pushing work back to the next clear day. According to the Town of Farragut's official website, detailed information on the project is available through the town's Engineering Department, available by phone at 865-966-7057 for any questions or concerns that may arise from residents during the course of the street improvements, or for general inquiries about the impact on daily travel and accessing local destinations.
