Residents in the Spring Branch neighborhood of Texas affected by last month’s apartment complex fire are now eligible for federal assistance. Governor Greg Abbott announced that the U.S. Small Business Administration has approved low-interest disaster loans for impacted homeowners and business owners, according to the Office of the Texas Governor.
Governor Greg Abbott announced that Texans affected by recent disasters can now apply for low-interest loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration. “With this approval, impacted Texans are now eligible for low-interest loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration to help them rebuild their homes and businesses,” Abbott said. The U.S. Small Business Administration is offering Home Disaster Loans, Business Physical Disaster Loans, and Economic Injury Disaster Loans. Applications are available online through the U.S. Small Business Administration website, by calling the Customer Service Center, or at a Disaster Loan Outreach Center that opens on Thursday, as reported by the Office of the Texas Governor.
A disaster assistance center will open at 1625 Blalock Road in Houston to help residents affected by the Spring Branch fire. The center will be open on weekdays and Saturdays. Officials said people who are deaf, hard of hearing, or have a speech disability can use telecommunications relay services by dialing 7-1-1. Governor Abbott announced the center after a damage assessment showed the community qualified for federal aid through the Small Business Administration, as stated by the Office of the Texas Governor.
