A former school resource officer, identified as Andrew Warren Bobb, 51, has been arrested in Clermont County following allegations of an inappropriate relationship with a Milford High School student, as detailed by local authorities. Bobb, residing in Columbia, Tennessee, was charged with tampering with evidence and violating a protection order, a development that has sparked concern throughout the community. Notably, upon his arrest last Friday, FOX19 reported that these charges were filed after Bobb was implicated in an involvement with a student during his tenure as a school resource officer.
The Clermont County Sheriff's Office was alerted to the alleged relationship after a concerned citizen presented a photograph from social media, showing Bobb and the student together in what was described as an "inappropriate" state. In the wake of this reporting, several search warrants and requests were executed, revealing that Bobb had allegedly engaged in destroying, removing, or altering evidence. This included the seizure of a cell phone, as disclosed by LOCAL12.
Further complicating matters, it was discovered that the Civil Protection Order had been violated, which had been filed by the guardians of the student after the relationship came to light. While it was determined that the pertinent photograph was taken after the student had reached the age of 18, and Bobb was no longer in the police force, the breach of the protection order still stands as a grave concern.
Authorities, including the Maury County Sheriff’s Office in Tennessee, collaborated to arrest Bobb, who was subsequently extradited back to Clermont County to face these charges. Expressing the gravity of the situation, Clermont County Sheriff Chris Stratton said, "No one is above the law, not even those who once wore a badge," in a statement echoing the sentiments found on the Milford OH Neighborhood Group on Facebook. "This former officer betrayed the trust of the public and the values we swear to uphold. My office will pursue accountability without fear or favor."
Currently held on a $50,000 cash bond at 10%, Bobb is expected to return to court on October 1 for a preliminary hearing. This case serves as a reminder of the law's egalitarian nature, whereby even former law enforcement officers are subject to the same legal scrutiny and consequences as any other citizen when facing allegations of misconduct.
