A former St. Cloud firefighter is facing charges for allegedly accessing a secure city camera system without authorization. Theresa Sysol, 41, who retired from St. Cloud Fire Rescue in March 2024, is accused of using the city's FUSUS real-time crime center platform to view live camera feeds between April 2024 and June 2025, a period after her retirement, according to a ClickOrlando report.
During a routine audit, Sysol's account credentials were reportedly found to have been used to access camera feeds using personal computers and cell phones. St. Cloud Police have charged her with seven counts of accessing a computer or electronic device without authorization, and one count of unlawful use of a two-way communication device. She was taken into custody on Thursday and held on a $20,000 bond, according to a statement obtained by Positively Osceola.
St. Cloud Police Department underscored the breach's seriousness, Chief Douglas Goerke said, “Unauthorized access to secure systems will be thoroughly investigated, and those responsible will be held accountable.” He added, "We are working to ensure points of access to these systems are more stringently controlled, and that incidents like this do not happen in the future," as reported by Positively Osceola.
