Gaston County Police have arrested a local woman, 34-year-old Demetria Ronika Blackmond of Gastonia, on 23 felony charges related to fentanyl trafficking. Authorities say she is accused of distributing over 3,000 pressed pills and possessing 250 grams of fentanyl powder, as per the Gaston County news release.
According to the Gaston County Police Department's Special Investigations Unit, the case involved a large-scale operation within the county. The department warned that pressed fentanyl pills are highly dangerous, with even a single pill potentially lethal.
