According to the City of Germantown's recent statement, Leadership Germantown has been instrumental in shaping a "strong and vibrant city," by providing participants a six-month intensive look into the city's inner workings.
The mayor underscored the program's lasting impact, noting that every member of the Board of Mayor and Aldermen are alumni. In a significant demonstration of its reach, many appointees on City boards and commissions are graduates as well. Evidently, Leadership Germantown has long been to assertively place volunteers in strategic community roles, with the forthcoming class poised to continue this trend.
Vice Mayor Mary Anne Gibson personally attested to the program's influence, her father inspiring the servant leadership award recognizing humble and service-driven graduates. Additionally, Alderman Brian Ueleke, who completed the program in 2019, told the City of Germantown's news outlet that Leadership Germantown "gave him a greater understanding of how Germantown works" and connected him with like-minded individuals dedicated to the city’s future.
