Glendale strip mall businesses, including a long-standing chicken restaurant and two other eateries, were targeted by burglars in the early hours of Friday morning. The establishments hit were Dinah's Chicken, El Pavo Bakery, and El Ruby Café, located on the 4100 block of San Fernando Road, as reported by KTLA.
El Ruby Café's Vanessa Cuateco detailed the preventative measures her family's business takes, acknowledging the turbulent times, "We do not keep money in our business," she told CBS News Los Angeles, "With just how crazy it is right now, we do not want to put anything inside that would cause us to get burglarized." Security footage showed intruders breaking into Dinah's Chicken and rummaging through the cash register, only to find it empty because owner Linda Pearson makes a habit of leaving drawers clear overnight. Pearson’s frustration was evident when she said, "If you're hungry, come here and we'll give you free food."
While authorities have yet to make arrests or provide detailed descriptions of the suspects, security video as covered by KTLA shows two masked individuals executing the break-ins, with one suspect notably wearing a gray sweatshirt adorned with the word "NARCOS." Glendale Police are still actively investigating the case, combing through evidence that might shed light on the identities of these burglars.
