Colonel Peterson, calling Wichita Falls home, comes to the commission with a hefty resume that includes 30 years of service in the United States Air Force and his most recent business role as a partner at the Wichita Falls Chamber of Commerce, and throughout his military tenure he has handled a variety of responsibilities including acting as the deputy director of logistics, engineering, and force protection at the Headquarters Air Education and Training Command at Randolph Air Force Base. Alongside his career accomplishments, Peterson is no stranger to military and veteran organizations, being an active member of the Logistics Officer Association, the Military Officers Association of America, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Educationally equipped with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Ohio University and a master's degree in Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Peterson's academic background complements his practical experience, equipping him for the complex needs of the commission, whose aim is not just to maintain, but to grow Texas' military presence and the economic benefits that come with it.
