Postino Wine Cafe opened its third Austin-area location Sunday inside the Village at Westlake, bringing the Phoenix-founded wine bar chain's bruschetta boards, charcuterie spreads and extensive wine list to the 78746 ZIP code. The new cafe sits at 701 S. Capital of Texas Hwy., Ste. J760, joining Postino's existing Austin cafes in Bryker Woods and South Central Austin.
The Westlake opening was timed to a charitable tie-in: for the September 13 grand-opening event, Postino partnered with Girls on the Run Austin to donate $1 from every bruschetta board sold that day to the youth-empowerment nonprofit, according to Do512. The chain's menu at the new location spans paninis, salads, bruschetta and charcuterie boards alongside craft cocktails, beers and non-alcoholic drinks, as reported by Community Impact.
A Bank Building Turned Wine Bar
The 4,000-square-foot space includes a 2,500-square-foot patio, retractable garage doors and an indoor-outdoor bar, all built into a building that formerly housed a bank branch. Do512 reports the design nods to that history with a wall mural assembled from more than 1,500 piggy banks. It is the kind of adaptive, site-specific touch Postino has used at each of its Austin-area openings, per the same account.
At its first Austin location on South Lamar Boulevard, which debuted in November 2024, Postino built a 700-foot art wall out of 52,000 vintage keychains as a tribute to the site's former life as a Texaco gas station, according to Community Impact. When Postino opened its second Austin cafe in Bryker Woods in August 2025, it occupied a revitalized 3,950-square-foot space near Shoal Creek, according to CultureMap Austin.
Happy Hour Deals and a New Bottle Club
Daily happy hour runs until 5 p.m. with $6 glasses of wine and $6 draft beer pitchers, and a weekly Board & Bottle special pairs a bruschetta board with a bottle of wine for $25 on Mondays and Tuesdays after 8 p.m., per Postino's own account of its pricing. The Westlake cafe is also launching a Postino Bottle Club, a monthly membership starting at $20 that includes up to three bottles of wine, an extra happy hour and other perks, per Community Impact.

From a Phoenix Post Office to Seven States
Postino traces its roots to 2001, when founders Lauren Bailey and Craig DeMarco opened the original cafe inside a restored 1940s post office building in Phoenix — the source of the name, derived from the Italian word for postman, according to WhatNow. The chain now operates under parent restaurant group Upward Projects. The Westlake cafe marks Postino's 12th Texas location since the brand entered the state in Houston's Heights district in 2018, part of a national footprint that now tops 30 locations across seven states, per the same report.
A Retail Center Betting on Evening Traffic
The Village at Westlake is a 200,000-square-foot retail center managed by Endeavor Real Estate Group, surrounded by 52 office buildings and more than 2.5 million square feet of office space within a three-mile radius, according to Endeavor Real Estate Group. The center also includes an H-E-B.
The surrounding 78746 ZIP code includes daytime office density and grocery traffic. Postino's arrival adds a full-service evening dining and social spot along the Bee Cave Road and Loop 360 corridors. Questions about the corridor's future remain open.
