
Gwinnett County's knack for effective communication has been hailed on a national platform, scooping up a plethora of Savvy Awards for public outreach achievements. The City-County Communications and Marketing Association (3CMA) has recognized the diligent efforts of the County's Communications Department, singling out their skill in crafting narratives that resonate with the community and their adeptness in educational endeavors, as per the county's official announcement.
Competing with other large jurisdictions, Gwinnett County captured coveted top prizes in the Savvy Awards, taking home First Place for its Gwinnett County Glass Recycling initiative under the 'Go Green Communication Program Efforts' and the 'Upfront Gwinnett: The Hidden Homeless' spot in the 'Interview/Talk Show/News Programming' category, further they garnered praise not just for the substance of their work but also for the creative and impactful ways they engaged the community. Reflecting the County's digital savviness, their Transit Referendum campaign secured a Silver Circle award for 'Best Use of Social Media', and two 'Award of Excellence' placements were achieved for both their educational 2025 Adopted Budget Video and the Gwinnett Parks and Recreation 2024 NRPA Gold Medal Finalist Video.
"These awards show that the work we're doing here in Gwinnett stacks up with the best in the country," said Joe Sorenson, Gwinnett County’s Communications Director in an announcement. Gwinnett County was recognized by the 3CMA for its innovative public communications and effective storytelling. The judges highlighted the county’s work as a standard for peers nationwide.
