The Hillsboro Hops played their final game at Hillsboro Ballpark on Sunday, closing a chapter before relocating to a new stadium planned for the 2026 season. The team, which began in 2013, has played at the ballpark, formerly known as Ron Tonkin Field, since its inception. However, the facility no longer meets the updated standards set by Minor League Baseball. According to KOIN, the farewell game against the Vancouver Canadians marked the Hops’ 613th game at the venue.

During the final game, K.L. Wombacher, president of the Hillsboro Hops, spoke about the team's history and fan support since relocating from Yakima. "We've had a tremendous year, 12 years, tons of great memories in this park," Wombacher told KATU. The remarks were made in the context of the team's final game at the ballpark.

The upcoming venue is expected to accommodate up to 6,000 attendees for baseball games and up to 7,000 for concert events. The design features include a wraparound concourse, a beer garden, and a food hall with six distinct dining options. In addition to sports, the facility is being developed to host a range of performances and community events.

As the Hops prepare for the transition, construction of the new stadium along Highway 26 is progressing, with seat installation scheduled to begin this month. As reported by KPTV, the stadium is expected to be completed by December and officially open in April 2026, allowing time for pre-season preparations.
