Hillsborough's Charter Review Board (CRB) is opening its doors for public input on possible changes to the County's Charter. According to a recent posting on the Hillsborough County website, residents are invited to join the conversation about altering the composition of the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC), which currently includes four single-member districts and three countywide districts.
The CRB's next meeting, scheduled for 6 p.m. on Tuesday at the County Center, will be a forum where residents, who hope to be heard from, can express their views on whether the current mixture of single-member and countywide districts adequately represents Hillsborough's diverse population. Among the changes being deliberated are shifting entirely to single-member districts or increasing the number of seats on the Board.
Hillsborough residents, who want to make sure their perspectives are included in the ongoing discussion, are encouraged to attend the upcoming meeting. This is an opportunity for the community to play a direct role in shaping their government. "Residents can make their voices heard at the next CRB meeting about what makeup of the Board they feel would best represent county residents," highlighted in the Hillsborough County announcement.
