In a move to steer young residents toward safer driving, the Horizon City Police Department has teamed up with ANP Driving School to offer discounted driver's license classes. Announced on social media, the collaboration aims to make driver's education within reach for Horizon City's youth and first-time drivers. According to Chief of Police Marco A. Vargas, the initiative is driven by a commitment to education over enforcement.
Starting on October 18, the program is said to cover all essential aspects of driving, including classroom learning and practical behind-the-wheel experience. Priced at $125 to cover the class, certification, and driving exam, the course will take place at ANP Driving School on Horizon Blvd. Registration and classes will be conducted in person, keeping with the community-focused spirit of the venture.
As reported by the Horizon City Police Department, this proactive approach to driving safety pinpoints education as a pivotal element in curbing accidents and establishing a groundwork for responsible motorists. Chief Vargas underscored the point, saying, "We want the public to know that our priority is education." He continued, explaining that this was about more than just handing out tickets; it's about imparting knowledge for legal and safe driving.
For her part, ANP Driving School's owner, Bertha Nieto, shared her excitement about the partnership. Speaking on behalf of ANP Driving School, she hopes the program will foster a generation of drivers who are well-equipped for the road. "We are excited to partner with the Horizon City Police Department to make driver's education more accessible for our youth," said Nieto, as per the Horizon City Police Department. "Our mission is simple: Drive Safe, Drive Smart, Arrive Alive."
