Houston residents should prepare for a hot and humid Friday, with temperatures expected to reach the mid to upper 90s. According to the National Weather Service, rain chances remain low today, but the likelihood of showers is expected to rise over the weekend.
Saturday's forecast indicates a slight possibility of rain from mid-morning to noon, followed by chances of showers and thunderstorms afterward. The National Weather Service also details an expected 30% chance of precipitation for Sunday afternoon, with potential showers and thunderstorm activity.
FOX26 Houston reports that tropical moisture combined with an approaching frontal system could lead to unsettled weather over the weekend. Additionally, a front expected to arrive on Monday may bring temporary relief from the heat.
Looking ahead, the week begins with mostly sunny skies on Monday, accompanied by a chance of scattered rain and thunderstorms. From Tuesday through Thursday, conditions are expected to be mostly sunny, with occasional rain possible and nighttime temperatures remaining in the low to mid-70s.
Amid local weather changes, attention is also focused on a tropical wave in the eastern Atlantic, designated Invest 91L. This system is being monitored for possible development into a tropical depression over the weekend, with the potential to strengthen into Tropical Storm Gabrielle soon after. As reported by FOX26 Houston, while the system is currently far from Texas and not an immediate threat, its forecasted path could pose challenges for the Lesser Antilles by midweek.
