Warm and dry conditions are forecast to continue in Houston through the week, with daytime highs in the low to mid-90s and nighttime lows in the upper 60s to low 70s. The National Weather Service has issued a warning about increased fire danger due to hot and dry conditions. "Please be aware that the current dry air conditions significantly increase the risk of wildfires. Exercise extreme caution to prevent any accidental starts," the agency stated, as reported by CW39. A slight chance of showers is expected later in the week, with the possibility of virga, where rain evaporates before reaching the ground. Tonight, skies will be mostly clear with a low of 74 degrees, and winds will shift from the northeast to the north at around 5 mph
Houston may see a change in weather by the weekend, with a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms in the forecast for Friday. Sunny conditions are expected before the possible rainfall. High temperatures over the weekend are predicted near 89 degrees, with lows in the mid-70s. Fire safety is advised, especially near coastal areas, as rain chances return late in the week and into the weekend.
