
The National Weather Service forecasts showers and thunderstorms in Houston today, mainly before 3 p.m., with a high near 89 degrees and a 60 percent chance of rain. Temperatures are expected to stay in the upper 80s for much of the week with cloudy skies, according to the National Weather Service.
FOX 26 Houston reports that rain chances will rise this week as a jet stream and Gulf moisture bring widespread showers and thunderstorms, with activity peaking around mid-week. Ragweed and mold allergy levels will remain high. Tropical Storm Gabrielle is expected to strengthen into a hurricane but is not a threat to the United States and will have minimal impact on Bermuda. The 2025 hurricane season has produced one hurricane and one major hurricane before Gabrielle. The National Hurricane Center is also monitoring a tropical wave off Africa with a 30 percent chance of development in the next seven days.
Residents can expect a slight chance of showers Monday, with rain and thunderstorms becoming more likely later in the week. The highest chance of precipitation, about 80 percent, is expected Wednesday. Daytime highs will be near 90 degrees, while nighttime lows will range from the mid-70s to upper 70s with mostly clear skies.
