The Issaquah Police Department (IPD) is participating once again in the Pink Patch Project, a nationwide law enforcement effort to raise breast cancer awareness. The IPD has released their annual pink-themed uniform patch, available for purchase by the public for $10. Proceeds from the patch sales support Footprints of Fight, a charity that helps families facing the challenges of childhood cancer. Funds raised are recycled directly to assist these families.
Officers from IPD and approximately 300 other cities nationwide will wear the pink patch during the campaign, symbolizing solidarity in the fight against a disease that affects many lives daily. Community members interested in supporting the cause can purchase this emblem of unity. Details about the Pink Patch Project and the impactful partnership with Footprints of Fight are available on Issaquah's official website.
To procure a patch, interested parties have several options. Donations can be made directly to Footprints of Fight, and a copy of the donation receipt, alongside a shipping address, is required to be sent to [email protected]. Otherwise, individuals can make their way to the IPD's front counter at City Hall during weekdays for an in-person purchase, where it's essential to have cash and the exact change at hand. The police department will also be vending patches during the local Salmon Days festival.
While patches remain available, personal checks will not be accepted and will be returned to the senders. Instead, prospective buyers are encouraged to use the designated payment methods to complete their purchase.
