The streets of Jacksonville are about to get an upgrade in emergency services, with the Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department (JFRD) announcing the addition of five new rescue units to its fleet. These specialized vehicles, designed to navigate urban challenges, are equipped to bring life-saving support to residents in need.
According to a social media post from JFRD, the new units boast cutting-edge technology on both the exterior and interior. They are not only visually streamlined but also contain essential equipment that paramedics and emergency medical technicians (EMTs) need to deliver urgent care efficiently. "Sleek on the outside, life-saving on the inside. Five new rescue units will soon join our fleet to serve Jacksonville," stated JFRD. With JFRD responding to 143,929 EMS incidents last year, these new additions arrive just in time to help support the department’s emergency crews in managing their demanding workload.
The announcement acknowledges the increasing demand for emergency services in Jacksonville and emphasizes the importance of maintaining advanced medical response capabilities. "These rescues will carry the paramedics, EMTs, and equipment needed to meet that demand and deliver care when every second matters," the department's post reads.
