Jacksonville is reeling from the news as 21-year-old Keith Johnson faces a second murder charge related to the death of 43-year-old Valondia Norris in April of 2024. Johnson, already implicated in the tragic case of 7-year-old Breon Allen earlier this year, was rearrested after the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO) Homicide detectives produced what they believe to be conclusive evidence. According to an official statement from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, Johnson had initially been charged with being an accessory after the fact and tampering with evidence in Norris' case.
Further complicating the tapestry of violence, Dannel Larkins, also aged 21, stands accused alongside Johnson for not only Norris' and Allen's murders but has been detained for a third murder as well. These arrests mark a chilling continuum of involvement in violent crime for the two young men. Arrested last week, Larkins remains in custody at the John E. Goode Pretrial Detention Facility, the same facility where Johnson is being held.
While these events could shake any community to its core, the JSO assures that their resolve for justice remains unwavering. "The men and women of the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office are committed to working with the State Attorney’s Office to ensure justice is served in every case Johnson and Larkins are involved," the office promises, as per the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office news release.
