In a significant win for the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Human Trafficking Division, two men have been sentenced to prison for the enticement and sexual exploitation of a young girl. As reported by the District Attorney's Office, Domonique Latrice Williams, 33, has been sentenced to 19 years after being convicted of 15 felonies, including compelling and promoting prostitution, among other charges. Kai’Leif Newcomb, 23, will serve 15 years following his conviction of four felonies related to the same case involving the victim, who was just 13 years old at the time of the initial offense.

The victim endured almost three years under the control of these individuals, suffering from both sexual abuse and being forced into prostitution. In their investigation, Portland Police and the Human Trafficking Unit, specifically, along with Detective Jordan Zaitz, identified customers who frequently purchased sex from the minor. One man, charged with purchasing sex with a minor during the PPB sting, was required to pay a $2,500 fine after pleading guilty to the charges, according to a news release by the Portland Police.

Further details revealed by the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office indicate customers James John Alfonsi, 67, and Vladimir Ivanovic Tishenko, 59, have been convicted and are awaiting sentencing, with a minimum expected term of 80 and 60 months in prison, respectively. Their charges include rape, sex abuse, and purchasing sex with a minor. Cameron John Caufield, 35, faced similar accusations but is expected to undergo bench probation instead of jail time, as per the official DA's statement.

The DA’s office commended the courage of the young victim, whose testimony was crucial in securing the convictions and sentences. "I am extremely proud of this brave young woman for coming forward to relive and report some of the most violent and traumatizing events of her life," Senior Deputy District Attorney JR Ujifusa said, according to the same District Attorney's Office. Ujifusa underscored the commitment of the Human Trafficking Team in protecting victims and pursuing justice against those who perpetrate such heinous crimes within the community.

Alongside the detectives, MCDA Victim Advocate Alie Aguilera was recognized for their compassionate work with the victim during the course of this investigation. The collaborative effort between the Portland Police's Human Trafficking Unit and the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office has brought a measure of justice to a gravely serious issue affecting the community and brought to light the disturbing reality of child sex trafficking that necessitates ongoing vigilance and action.
