In the sobering case that has unfolded over the past few years, a man has been convicted on multiple charges for the sexual assault of a minor. According to a press release from the District Attorney's Office, Randall Fairchild Myers, aged 52, was found guilty of two counts of Aggravated Rape and one count of Incest. The prosecutors in the Child Abuse Unit, led by Assistant District Attorneys Heather Ens and Ashley McDermott, successfully navigated the disturbing evidence presented over a two-day trial.

The crimes took place in the summer of 2022, involving a 13-year-old victim. Myers, along with his wife and co-defendant Abigail Myers, provided the underage girl with alcohol and marijuana. The intoxication preceded multiple sexual assaults by Randall Myers who then blamed the victim, claiming the assault was her fault due to her attire. Abigail Myers's later confession through a note to a friend triggered the investigation leading to this conviction, with Knox County Sheriff’s Office Det. Preston Huddleston taking charge of the case. It was nearly two years before Randall Myers was apprehended by the U.S. Marshals after fleeing the jurisdiction.

At the recent trial, Abigail Myers, who has already been handed an eighteen-year sentence for Rape, testified against her husband, corroborating the victim's testimony. In the words of District Attorney Charme Allen, "Because of the bravery of this victim and the cooperation of multiple law enforcement agencies, this offender has been apprehended and held accountable for his crimes," as detailed by the District Attorney's Office.

Judge Hector Sanchez has scheduled the case for sentencing on November 14, where Myers is faced with a minimum of 15 to 25 years without the possibility of parole. The prosecutors are advocating for the highest end of the sentence range, requesting that the counts run consecutively. Alongside the Assistant District Attorneys, Assistant Victim Witness Coordinator Leah Graves and Legal Secretary Erin Morrison were instrumental in the prosecution.
