Last Saturday in Las Vegas, Kyle Hughes was killed after a dispute with his roommate, Christian Bryant, 39, who was arrested on suspicion of murdez. Police responded around 3:50 a.m. to an apartment near Eastern and Charleston after a female roommate reported Hughes was injured. Hughes died despite resuscitation efforts. The female roommate said Bryant stabbed Hughes multiple times. When police found Bryant, he gave a false identity and had two backpacks of clothes. Two bleach bottles were also found at the scene, with bleach stains on Hughes’ clothing, according to FOX5 Vegas.
News3LV reports that surveillance video shows Bryant leaving the apartment at 3:33 a.m., 17 minutes before the emergency call was made. During questioning, Bryant initially acted casually but changed his behavior after learning he was charged with murder. He said he stabbed Hughes in self-defense, claiming Hughes had attacked him.
Bryant is facing charges after a fatal confrontation that left one man dead. Police say his injuries "they were not consistent with being stabbed in the back three times by a large butcher style knife," contradicting his claim of self-defense. During his first interview, Bryant laughed several times and asked, "'Did I stab somebody?'" He is held on $250,000 bail, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for September 24, as mentioned by News3LV.
