The 34th annual Senior Fun Festival will be held on September 25 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lorenzo Cultural Center, 44575 Garfield Road in Clinton Township. Organized by the Macomb County Office of Senior Services, the festival is Macomb County’s largest senior expo and will offer seniors and caregivers information, resources, and free items, according to the Macomb County.
Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel returned as master of ceremonies, saying, "It’s always an honor to take part in the Senior Fun Festival." The event brought together more than 1,000 seniors and their support networks for entertainment, raffles, and swag bags for the first 500 attendees. Sheila Cote, director of the Macomb County Office of Senior Services, said, "Our goal is to help Macomb County residents age in place and events like the Senior Fun Festival help ensure they have the tools and connections to do just that." The festival featured booths with resources including financial advice and home care.
Macomb County Director and Health Officer Andrew Cox said, “Social connection is a key part of staying healthy as we age.” The festival for seniors provides information, resources, and opportunities for social interaction.
