Today, Mayor Cherelle L. Parker is set to mark a moment of joy for the children and families of the Community Partnership School (CPS), as she attends the ribbon-cutting ceremony for their new playground. This latest addition elaborates on an ambition foreseen since the school's relocation to a new building back in 2019, now brought to fruition on 3033 W. Glenwood Avenue in Philadelphia.
According to a statement from the Mayor's office, the playground is not just a new structure but also a tribute, dedicated to Carolyn Korman Jacobs, a stalwart board member and volunteer whose dedication to CPS has been unwavering. In celebration of her contributions, her legacy will now play a part in children's everyday laughter and play.
Support for the playground came from multiple channels. Earlier today, Mayor Parker emphasized the importance of community-driven initiatives, noting how volunteer efforts and persistent advocacy had transformed into tangible benefits for the pre-kindergarten through 5th-grade students.
