A late December hit-and-run incident has left one person dead and another critically injured in Memphis. The crash took place at the intersection of South Third Street and Builders Way, at approximately 10:12 p.m. on a cold Saturday night, December 28, 2024, as reported by the Memphis Police Department.
The investigation revealed that an unidentified vehicle, traveling northbound on South Third Street, struck a black 2014 Nissan Altima, causing it to lose control and collide with a light pole. The responsible vehicle fled the scene, continuing northbound, likely with its own tale of damage etched across the front end. The passengers of the Nissan, whose evening took an unexpected and tragic turn, were rushed to Regional One Health. Tragically, the passenger later died from the injuries sustained in the crash.
