A somber update to a hit-and-run incident that happened late last year has been reported. On December 11, 2024, at approximately 12:05 p.m., Memphis police were dispatched to a particularly grim scene at East Mallory Avenue near Latham Street. According to the Memphis Police Department's news release, a male pedestrian was discovered having been fatally struck by a vehicle while he attempted to cross the street.
Despite emergency services' swift response, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, reported to have fled westbound along East Mallory Avenue, was nowhere to be found. The vehicle in question is believed to be a black Infiniti G37, sporting significant front-end and hood damage from the incident. As investigators process this tragedy, they are reaching out to the community for assistance.
Memphis Police are urging anyone with knowledge of the December crash to come forward.
