This past Saturday, the community of Milton once again flocked to the annual Touch-a-Truck event, a family-oriented spectacle where legions of eager children got up close with an array of vehicles. Held outside Stonecreek Church, the event featured a smorgasbord of vehicles - from service-related trucks to a video game truck, and notably, a sleek Ducati motorcycle. Attendees were given the chance not only to view but also to physically touch and sometimes even operate the equipment.

Despite the threat of inclement weather, the festivities wrapped up on time before a storm came through. According to a report from the City of Milton, children were provided the opportunity to play instant paramedic within an ambulance, and even to sit behind the wheel of hefty tractors. The variety on display included practical machinery such as trash bin cleaners and moving trucks.

Among the most popular attractions were the public service vehicles. Kids and their families checked out a Milton police patrol car and a Fulton County SWAT vehicle, with visitors particularly interested in the large firefighting quint used by Milton Fire. The quint, named for the five tools it harbors - a pump, a water tank, a fire hose, ground ladders, and an aerial device - drew crowds as Firefighter Chris Seay demonstrated what it takes to climb its towering 110-foot ladder, performing it as though he were in an actual emergency situation.

Youngsters also lined up eagerly to receive balloon animals, undergo face painting, and jump around on giant inflatables. Food trucks served as a source of culinary delight amidst the day’s adventures, providing sustenance for both the young and the young at heart. Adding to the event's charm, Marshall from Paw Patrol graced the playzone with his presence and, given his fire-rescue theming, was an instant hit as per information released by the City of Milton.

The event, in partnership with Stonecreek Church, was made possible thanks to numerous business sponsors, whose names are available on the city's website. The expression of gratitude was extended to everyone who participated.
