Residents and businesses around Morris Road are bracing for a water outage scheduled for next Wednesday. This disruption is due to the expansive Morris Road widening-plus project, according to the City of Milton's latest announcements. The project's necessity stems from infrastructure modifications, resulting in Wilson Construction, the city's contractor, having to temporarily halt water service.
The shutdown is anticipated to commence at 9 a.m. on that Wednesday, and if all goes to plan, normal water service should resume by 5 p.m., though, in construction, delays are not uncommon so the end time could extend depending on various factors. Advance notice has been up in the form of electronic signage in the affected region, alerting residents and local workers of the impending water interruption, the City's communication attempted to ensure that the disruption is as limited as possible.
In spite of the inconvenience, the officials have informed there will be no boil water advisory necessary once the water is turned back on. As reported on Milton's official government website, "the water should be safe and usable" immediately following the restoration of the service. This information is a silver lining for those worried about the safety of their post-outage water supply.
