In a brief social media update that brought relief to an anxious community, the Garland Police Department announced yesterday that Chinonyeren Oliver, the 17-year-old boy who went missing last Saturday, has been found and is once again in the safety of his family. The announcement, which came in the form of a succinct post on the Garland Police Department's official Facebook page, provided scant details but confirmed the positive outcome of the situation. The post stated, "**Update** 1:04 AM Mr. Oliver has been safely located and reunited with his family."
Prior to the resolution of the case, Garland Police had issued an endangered missing persons alert for Oliver, who was last seen at his residence in the 2800 block of North Garland Avenue before he apparently vanished sometime during the night. Oliver is described as a black male with a light to medium skin tone, standing about 5 feet, 2 inches tall, and weighing approximately 110 pounds. He has a thin build, short black hair, and brown eyes. The teenager, who is diagnosed with a mood disorder and autism, also requires daily medication, an aspect that added urgency to his safe return.
Concerned citizens and the local community were urged to help in the search by keeping an eye out for the young man, who was potentially on foot, wearing black shorts and a white T-shirt at the time he disappeared. The police also encouraged anyone with information about Mr. Oliver's whereabouts to reach out immediately, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in such critical situations.
