Missouri’s Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, in collaboration with the State Board of Education, is seeking public input to help shape its new strategic education plan. Families, community members, business leaders, and educators are invited to provide feedback on the state’s direction for education, according to a recent announcement.

The initiative aims to gather public perspectives on key priorities for Pre-K–12 education in Missouri. Feedback is being collected through the Strategic Plan Survey, an online questionnaire designed to take less than ten minutes to complete. Responses are anonymous and confidential. The survey will remain open until 5 p.m. on September 26 and is intended to inform the development of education policies in the state over the coming years.

"This survey is an important part of our work to ensure we hear different perspectives and voices while considering revisions to our strategic plan," Commissioner of Education Dr. Karla Eslinger explained in the department's announcement, emphasizing the need to gather a broad range of opinions and the impact it will have on ensuring "quality education across the state for all of our students."

Anyone interested in reviewing the current game plan can visit DESE's Strategic Planning webpage, where the previous strategic plan is openly available for public viewing. Those who want to share their input can take the online Strategic Plan Survey.
