A Montgomery County township supervisor has been arrested in Maryland on charges of sexual solicitation of a minor and related offenses. Nicholas Fountain, 38, vice chair of the Skippack Township Board of Supervisors, was taken into custody following an undercover operation by the Harford County Sheriff’s Office, according to court documents cited by FOX 5 DC.

Charging papers obtained by 6abc state that Fountain engaged in sexually explicit conversations online with an undercover officer posing as a 14-year-old boy on Reddit. He allegedly sent explicit photos and requested reciprocation. Fountain is also the operator of two childcare centers—Camp Magnolia in Skippack and Magnolia Children’s Academy in Gilbertsville—both of which were closed after his arrest.

According to 6abc, the Skippack Township Board of Supervisors released a statement saying they were shocked by the charges and, if true, called on Fountain to resign from the Board of Supervisors.

NBC Philadelphia reports that Pennsylvania officials searched Fountain’s Collegeville home and seized electronic devices, including computers, cell phones, hard drives, clothing, and smart watches. The search warrant also allowed officials to photograph the interior. A Reddit account under the username “pro_busy_87” was linked to Fountain through explicit photos showing identifiable background furnishings that matched his family social media images.

Fountain remains in custody in Montgomery County awaiting extradition to Maryland. A hearing is expected to take place next week.
