A new culinary landscape is taking shape in downtown St. Louis with the forthcoming Washington Avenue Food Hall. As reported by KSDK, Oliver Properties has embraced the role of downtown revitalizer through its latest project, slated to commence construction on October 1. Located at 1122 Washington Avenue, the food hall will stretch across 9,000 square feet, making room for eight food vendors and a centrally placed bar.
Amid cheering the groundbreaking, Alex Oliver noted the importance of fulfilling residents' desires for more than just living spaces. "This will be an exciting place with a lot of creativity and connection," Oliver told First Alert 4. Housing a large patio, featuring a retractable roof to accommodate all weathers, the food hall hopes to breathe new life into the community fabric. Providing seating for 230 patrons, the concept is designed to draw not only locals but also visitors in town for various events, standing as an inviting meeting hub in the urban core.
The collaboration with West Palm Beach-based Fireten Hospitality, reported by KSDK, brings a seasoned manager into the mix, responsible for vendor selection and overall management. The partnership signalizes a commitment to operational excellence and diversity in dining options. While a previous food hall, the Eatery, closed during the COVID-19 pandemic, Oliver's community-centric approach purports to ensure that this new venture thrives where others have faltered.
With an opening targeted between April and June 2026, residents are already looking forward to what the Washington Avenue Food Hall will bring. As noted by FOX 2 Now, the food hall not only presents opportunities for culinary exploration with space for eight different food stalls but also plans to include two bars, one nestled inside with another tucked in the back of the building under a retractable roof. Continuing his investment in the area, Alex Oliver envisions the venue as a keystone in downtown St. Louis's ongoing transformation, eagerly seeking to attract and ramp up pedestrian traffic.
