The North Bend Police Department has a new graduate in its ranks, as Officer Sattler completed an intensive 16-week training program at the police academy, the department announced. The next step for Officer Sattler is to embark on in-house field training, where he will be working closely with seasoned officers.
North Bend’s Police Chief Cal Mitts voiced support for the new officer, "Officer Sattler has shown outstanding dedication and determination," he said, according to the North Bend Police Department announcement. Beginning to serve the North Bend community, the field training phase will see the application of academy knowledge into practical policing tasks. Hands-on experience is promised under the tutelage of experienced trainers, yet to be named, but expected to be from within the department's ranks.
At the graduation, Captain Perry and Sergeant White were present to show their support for the fresh graduate. Attending the ceremony that took place earlier, the North Bend Police Department is looking forward to incorporating Officer Sattler into the team on a more permanent basis, his field training being the crucial next step in this process.
Chief Mitts expressed eagerness about Officer Sattler's advancement within the force, "We’re excited to have Officer Sattler back with the team and look forward to supporting his growth in the role," emphasizing the communal support framework in place for the newcomer, as per the North Bend Police Department.
