The city of North Bend is calling on local entrepreneurs to voice their opinions on proposed changes to signage regulations and to rate city services. A survey is now open for business owners to offer their insights, as the city plans to renovate its sign codes to better reflect the diverse array of sign types sprawling across its business landscape, as per the city's official announcement.

The City of North Bend says its current Municipal Code Chapter 18.20 no longer reflects the changing landscape of commercial signage. Officials are seeking public input as they work to update regulations to better address modern business practices and newer types of signs. "The feedback you provide via this brief survey will serve as an integral part of shaping updates to NBMC 18.20," reads a statement from the city's call for participation, according to the city's website.

The survey goes beyond sign aesthetics and compliance, aiming to explore how the city can strengthen its support for North Bend’s business community. It seeks feedback on customer service and business guidance, giving local owners a chance to share their experiences and challenges in the commercial landscape.

Associate Planner Caitlin Hepworth, AICP is the go-to contact for queries concerning the initiative. Owners wanting to share feedback or seek clarification can reach out to her via email at [email protected], call on (425) 888-7665, or visit in person at City Hall, located aptly at 920 SE Cedar Falls Way — their doors are open Monday through Thursday from 8:30 to noon, and again from 1 to 4:30 p.m., with a half day on Fridays closing at noon. To keep business owners informed, North Bend has released a Business and Sign Code Survey Flyer outlining the survey’s purpose and how to participate.
