In a move aimed at bolstering his administration's leadership in its waning months, Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt has appointed three strategic figures to key positions. As reported on September 11th by the Governor's newsroom, the appointments include a senior advisor, a chief operating officer, and a secretary of state—each bringing varying expertise from business and public service to the state’s executive team.
Dustin Hilliary, who now steps into the role of Senior Advisor to the Governor, brings a pedigree of trusted leadership and a knack for negotiation. Hilliary's business acumen, gained through the expansion of a family enterprise in broadband and media, is expected to play a critical part in liaising with state legislators. According to a statement obtained by the Governor's newsroom, Hilliary expressed his commitment to "advance policies with the Legislature that put our state on a strong path today and for future generations."
David Ostrowe returns to Governor Stitt's office, this time as Chief Operating Officer, effective immediately. Ostrowe's first stint with the state government included a significant push towards digital transformation, which, he claims, made government operations more streamlined and transparent. Ostrowe also boasts of a decorated career in the restaurant industry and public service—including doubling state revenue as chair of the Oklahoma Lottery. He told the Governor's newsroom, "I am honored to return as COO to help finish that mission and continue advancing good government for all Oklahomans."
The role of Secretary of State will be filled by Donelle Harder come October 1. With a diverse background including directing multi-agency reforms and developing Governor Stitt’s first legislative agenda, Harder brings to the table over 15 years of experience in public affairs and policy strategy. Her private sector work encompasses advising Fortune 500 companies and managing growth and reputation. "I’m honored to serve as Secretary of State and support Governor Stitt’s administration again," Harder said, in a statement reported by the Governor's newsroom, "I look forward to sharpening our strategic approach and ensuring this administration remains effective and focused on delivering good government for the people of Oklahoma."
